Ronald T. “Ron” McGrath

April 17, 1931 - June 26, 2022

Ronald T. “Ron” McGrath, age 91, of Middletown, DE, passed away peacefully, on Sunday, June 26, 2022.

Born in Elma, IA, on April 17, 1931, he was the son of the late Thomas Marion and Georgiana (Crotteau) McGrath. Ron proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was involved with the first mid-air refueling of a B-52 as a boom operator. He made his career as a salesman, working for Walgreens, Lou’s Shoe Bazaar, and Del Campo Bakery, retiring in 1995.

Dedicated to his faith and community, Ron was a devoted parishioner at St. Joseph Parish. He was a member of Bishop Becker Council, and Cardinal Gibbons Assembly of the Knights of Columbus.

In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his sister, Loretta McAteer. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Carolyn C. (Paul) McGrath; loving children, Thomas P. McGrath (Becky), Kevin P. McGrath (Tracey), Daniel J. McGrath (Jen), and Kathleen A. McGrath; grandchildren, Breanna, Danny, Sean, Sam, and Minea; and great-grandchildren, Joslynn, Ryker, and Ruyn.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:30 am until 11:30 am on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at St. Joseph Parish, 371 East Main Street, Middletown, DE, where a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:30 am. Interment will follow in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.
