Rose Marie Castle

Rose Marie Castle, age 99, of Wilmington, DE, formerly of Penns Grove, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2013.
Born in Camden, NJ on August 3, 1914, Mrs. Castle was the daughter of the late Wilhemina and John Bornheimer. She was a graduate of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Business School. A leader in the Penns Grove business community, she owned and operated the former Castle Oil Company with her husband for 30 years and served as the firm’s accountant.
Mrs. Castle was a devout Catholic throughout her life and a lifelong member of St. James R.C. Church in Penns Grove, where she was very active in the Altar and Rosary Sodality. More recently, she was a parishioner of Holy Spirit R.C. Church in New Castle, DE.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Castle, and by her siblings, Joseph, John, and Catherine Bornheimer. She is survived by her daughter, Rose Holmquist (Len Jr.); grandson, Len Holmquist III (Lori); great granddaughter, Alexis; and several nieces and nephews.
The family extends their most sincere gratitude to the staff of Manor Care–especially Kelly and Kelly–for their many kindnesses to Mrs. Castle during her residence.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 am on Saturday, August 17th, at Holy Spirit R.C. Church, 12 Winder Road, Garfield Park, New Castle, where visitation will begin at 9:30 am. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Penns Grove, NJ.
