Rose Marie Roberts

Mrs. Rose Marie Roberts, age 82, of Ocean View, DE, formerly of New Castle, passed away on Thursday, August 16, 2012.
Born in Betterton, MD, on January 22, 1930, Mrs. Roberts was the daughter of the late Roy F. Covey and Emma Seymour Covey. She was employed as the cafeteria supervisor for Delaware Technical Community College until her retirement.
After moving to Ocean View, Mrs. Roberts became an active member of St. Ann’s parish. She was also very involved in the local community as a Life Member of the VFW in Ocean View, and as a member of the Elks Club and the Moose Lodge (both in Ocean City, MD), and the Red Hat Society.
Mrs. Roberts loved roses throughout her life. She greatly enjoyed spending time by the water and was affectionately known as “the Diva of the Beach.”
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Victor Roberts; sons, James DiMaio, Jr. and Robert DiMaio; brother, William Covey; and sister, Lorraine Willey. She is survived by her children, John DiMaio, Elizabeth DiMaio Winward, Mark Roberts, and Randy Roberts; daughter-in-law, Terri DiMaio; brothers, Paul Covey and Roy Covey; sisters, Ruth Ann Haslam, Mary Kilmer, and Agnes Poore; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, where visitation will begin at 10 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle.
