Russell Don Teeter

Russell Don Teeter, age 79, of Newark, DE, passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2016.
Born in Chincoteague, VA on December 19, 1936, Russell was a son of the late Russell Floyd Teeter and E. Lou (LeKites) Blizzard. He proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. In June of 1963, Russell received his bachelors degree in chemistry from University of Delaware. In 1981, he started working at the family greenhouse business as a greenhouse manager.
Russell was an active member of the Perennial Plant Associated Standards Committee. In his leisure time, Russell enjoyed camping, cooking and writing. He will deeply be missed by all of his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Lee Teeter. Russell is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Enola Jane (Newton) Teeter; daughter, Donna Maria Speakman (Timothy); sister, Lillian Rogers (Rodger); several step siblings; 3 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 12:30 pm on Wednesday afternoon, March 2, 2016 at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where a visitation will be held from 11:30 am until 12:30 pm. A committal service will follow in the chapel at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Rd, Bear.

To Enola Teeter,
I read of Don’s passing in the News Journal. My sympathy to you, your daughter, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was blessed to have a large and supportive family and he will be missed. My best wishes to you as you start this new part of your life without the man you loved.
