Ruth (Henderson) Malice

June 3, 1933 - February 29, 2020

Ruth (Henderson) Malice, age 86, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Saturday, February 29, 2020.

Born in Wilmington, DE on June 3, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Wesley and Martha (Graden) Henderson. Ruth worked in the proofing department of Wilmington Trust and was also a talented homemaker. She could often be found in the kitchen cooking or baking a delicious meal or admiring the flowers in her garden. Ruth also loved watching the Phillies and Eagles and loved to go shopping in her spare time. She was a devout Christian who loved her family and grandchildren more than anything, especially her grandson Dayvon who lived with her.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Malice; brother, Wesley Henderson; and grandson, little Chan Cathcart. She is survived by her children, Ronald Malice (Jane) of Millsboro, Cathy Cathcart and her friend Steve of New Castle and Sandra Windsor (Scott) of Newark; grandchildren, Kimberly, Michelle, Nikki, Marc, Robbie and Joey; great grandchildren, Jordan, Markie, Karlee, Kayleigh, Dayvon, Jamison, Kyle, Drew, Chase, Luke, Madison and Alexis; and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Monday, March 9, 2020, at the Gracelawn Memorial Park Chapel, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a service will begin at 11 am. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery.

  • I wish had spent more time with Aunt Ruth. She was always so happy to see us when we stop by. She always made me feel right at home. It is a sad day when someone with so much to give passes on. I am greatly sorry for your loss. I do believe that the wonderful qualities that Aunt Ruth had were passed on to her childern and that is what being a parent is all about. She was a blessing to all and will be greatly missed.

    I just found out that your Mother has passed away. So sorry for your loss. She was such a wonderful friend to me. Wes, Theresa and myself used to visit her and always enjoyed ourselves. She was thge biggest help for us when Wes didi and tok care of my brother Bob for us. May she rest in peace.
