Sally I. Thompson-Birkmire

Sally I. Thompson-Birkmire, age 74, of Newark, DE, passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2022.
Born in Chestertown, MD, on February 3, 1948, she was a daughter of the late Baynard and Marguerite Thompson. Sally received her associate degree in mechanical engineering from Delaware Technical Community College. She went on to work at the University of Delaware as a research technician, retiring after over 30 years of dedicated service.
Sally was a talented gardener, and grew all types of beautiful flowers and vegetables.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Peggy Bottomley. She is survived by her beloved husband of 25 years, Robert W. Birkmire; loving sons, John Woodall, and Scott Wallace; and sister, Dorothy Abrams.
All services will be held privately.
