Sandra K. Renn, age 71, of Newark, DE, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2024.

Born in Shamokin, PA, on July 14, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Robert L. and Jean E. (Wertman) Renn. She worked as a server at McDonald’s in Newark for 28 years.

Sandy was a woman of faith who loved to sing. She served the Lord in the choirs of Ogletown Baptist Church, First Baptist Church in Elkton, and Newark Baptist Church. She enjoyed giving back to her community as a volunteer in the library at the Newark Senior Center and as a member of the Songbirds. Most of all, she cherished the memories she made spending time with her family.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Robert L. and Jean E. Renn. She is survived by her siblings, Robert A. Renn (Grace) and Marcia R. Paxton (David), both of Newark, and many nieces and nephews.

All services for Sandy will be held privately.

  • Marcia and Bob, I am praying for you and your family as you walk through this sadness. The first thing that came to my memory when Bruce told me of Sandy’s passing was how she hoped to return to church again. I told her that when she was stronger, she would have that to look forward to. Although she bypassed Ogletown Baptist, she is now worshipping face to face with our God and King !   • Sandy always seemed enthusiastic, positive, and happy. I will miss her. We had a lot of fun together at family picnics when we were children.

  • I loved Sandy while she was with me in our Women of Faith Sunday SchoolClass. She would read her assigned verses so well and went to lunch afterwards. She always had sweet words and smiles afterward. I am missing her but know that she is with our Lord in heaven with her parents and praising and worshipping our God, perhaps visiting my Sharon there.
