Sergius P. “Serge” Wolynetz

Sergius P. “Serge” Wolynetz, age 89, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.
Born in Wilmington, DE on October 17, 1936, he was a son of the late Paul and Catherine (Smith) Wolynetz. Serge proudly served in the Delaware National Guard. He worked at the United States Post Office for 33 years until his retirement.
Serge was happiest on the water and could often be found fishing. He was also a member of the Newark Anglers. Serge enjoyed spending his free time with friends at the Moose Lodge #1578. He will always be remembered as a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother.
In addition to his parents, Serge was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Jo (Robinson) Wolynetz; and brother, Michael P. Wolynetz. He is survived by his children, Mike Wolynetz (Denise), Lisa Adams (Bob), and Scott Wolynetz (Tricia); sister, Nancy Wolynetz; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 11 am until 12 pm on Friday, January 30, 2026, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE. Services and inurnment will be held privately.
