Mr. Seyedjalal Parvizi, age 100, of Middletown, DE, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2013.
Born in Birjand, Iran on November 26, 1912, Mr. Parvizi made his career in banking and served as the executive director of the Agricultural Bank of Iran for many years. Admired throughout his life for his honest, kind, and trustworthy nature, he possessed an equally great passion for learning, never ceasing in his quest for knowledge and enlightenment (he was a particularly keen student of Persian history and also loved classic poetry). A master storyteller, Mr. Parvizi kept family and friends rapt with his many fascinating tales. His talent for gardening was unmatched.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 73 years, Soltan Nahidipoor Parvizi; five daughters; two sons; twelve grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his seven sisters.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday, April 19, 2013, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, where visitation will begin at 10 am. Interment will follow in Silverbrook Cemetery, Lancaster Ave. and DuPont Rd., Wilmington.
