Mrs. Signa L. Lake, age 92, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 16, 2011 at the Heartland Hospice House.
Born on July 31, 1919, in Wilmington, DE, Mrs. Lake was the daughter of the late Samuel B. Rash, Sr. and Signa G. Jackson Rash. She was a talented and gifted homemaker, whose greatest joy was caring for her family. An active supporter of the Newark Senior Center, Mrs. Lake donated her time to various activities, including running their weekly bingo games.
Mrs. Lake was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond Lake and a great granddaughter, Sarah Ann Lake. She is survived by her son, Thomas R. Lake, Sr., and wife, Ida May, of Myrtle Beach, SC, and daughter, Linda Bossert, and husband, Steven, of Newark, DE; 4 grandchildren, Brandon and Nick Bossert, Thomas Lake, and Michelle Lake Quigley; and 4 great grandchildren.
The family would like to give special thanks to the Christiana Care Nursing staff and the Heartland Hospice House staff for the exceptional care they provided to Mrs. Lake.
Services for Mrs. Lake will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society, 92 Read’s Way, Suite 205, New Castle, DE 19720.
