Stella Marie Greenberg

Mrs. Stella Marie Greenberg, age 74, of Lewes, DE, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, June 26, 2013.
A native Delawarean, Mrs. Greenberg was born in Wilmington on May 27, 1939, daughter of the late Michael S. Poccynek and Pearl M. D’Amico Poccynek. She was a talented homemaker throughout her life.
Active in her community, Mrs. Greenberg was a member and past president of the Angola by the Bay Homemakers Club and a member of the Angola by the Bay Women’s Club. For many years, she greatly enjoyed playing tennis, swimming, going to the beach, and bowling with friends. With her husband, Irv, she traveled all over the world to many interesting and exotic destinations.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 37 years, Irving J. Greenberg, her brother-in-law, Richard Hadley, Sr., and her dearest friend, Joann Malascalza. She will be dearly missed by her stepson, Gary Greenberg (Angela) of PA; stepdaughter, Ruth Levin of Claymont; siblings, Michael, John (Irene), and David Poccynek, all of Wilmington, Barbara Hadley of New Castle, and Diane Myers of Wilmington; wonderful, loving friend, Bette Nedwick of Wilmington; four step grandchildren; three step great grandchildren; nine nieces and nephews; fourteen great nieces and nephews; and three great great nieces.
A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Sunday, June 30, 2013, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, where visitation will begin at 11 am. Interment will follow in Beth Emeth Memorial Park in Wilmington.
