Trevor Allen Dodd

Trevor Allen Dodd of Newark, DE passed away on Tuesday evening, October 25, 2011, at the University of PA Hospital in Philadelphia following complications of an auto-immune disorder, primary sclerosing cholangitis. He was 42 years old.

Trevor was born on August 10, 1969 in Madison, WI. He spent his childhood first in Atlanta, GA and later in Ponca City, OK. The family moved to Wilmington, DE in 1985, and Trevor graduated from McKean High School in 1988. He studied at Shippensburg University and the Chubb Institute and then began working at Delaware Technical and Community College in the IT department at the Wilmington and Stanton campuses. In recent years, he also provided IT support for the Victory Christian Fellowship Church in New Castle.

Trevor had a passion for dogs, computers, thriller novels, films, and on-line gaming. He also had a life-long love for Colorado where he and his family spent many of their summer and Christmas vacations with their grandparents.

Even as Trevor’s condition worsened, he continued to work steadily and was considered a dependable, thoughtful employee and a kind and generous friend. The family wishes to thank Trevor’s friends and co-workers for their immeasurable support throughout the weeks prior to his death. Your love offered Trevor peace of mind, and for that we are grateful.

He is survived by his mother and father, John and Diedra Dodd, of Avondale, PA; his sister, Melissa Dodd, of San Francisco, CA; his aunt Debbie Dodd and her partner Nancy Wymer of Ogden, UT; his aunt Mary Jones and her husband Bruce Jones of Pensacola, FL; and treasured, close family friends who were part of the extended family.

A memorial service will be held at Christ Church, Christiana Hundred, 505 E. Buck Road, Greenville, DE, on Saturday, October 29th, at 11 am and will be followed be a reception afterwards.
