Walter S. Kwoka (Wofat)
Mr. Walter S. Kwoka (Wofat), went to be with our Lord to join his soul-mate, Charity Tucker; parents, John and Mary Kwoka (nee’ Barnak); son, Raymond Wells Sr.; and seven siblings, John Kwoka, Wanda Marino, Irene Skomorucha, Chester Kwoka, Stanley Kwoka, Anthony (Cookie) Kwoka and Charles Kwoka, on Friday, May 14, 2021.
Mr. Kwoka worked at Laidlaw Corp. as a machine operator, and was a long-time member of the Knights of Columbus. In his earlier years, he enjoyed being an umpire. Mr. Kwoka played on multiple bowling teams throughout his life. He loved spending time with his family at cookouts, Christmas at Krystal’s, and enjoying his favorite coconut cakes that she made with love, just for him. Mr. Kwoka also enjoyed going to Kylie, Kadence and Gary Jr.’s sporting events. He treasured having Kylie as his little nurse, watching Kadence flipping and dancing in the living room for his entertainment (especially during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic), and little Gary becoming a rising star in baseball. Mr. Kwoka, who was affectionally known as Pop, will always hold a special place in our hearts.
Mr. Kwoka is survived by his daughters, Carol Wells-Smith (David) and Debra Moore (Roger); sons, Johnathon Kwoka (Angela), David Wells (Cindy) and Robert Wells; grandchildren, Nichole Lambert (Tom), Jennifer (Chris), Krystal (Bill), Justin (Erika), Kenny (Casandra), Charity (Daniel), Jeannie, Raymond Jr. (Shaneisha), Toni (Chris), and Samantha; great grandchildren, Ethan, Owen, Hunter, Jackson, Maksim, Revan, Caitlynn, Kevin, Kylie, Kadence, Gary Jr., Amaiyah, Xander, Nicholas, Shane, Vincent, Matthew, Jameson and Alaina; and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 11 am until 12 pm on Thursday, May 20, 2021, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, followed by a time of sharing at 12 pm. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 220 North Dupont Highway, New Castle, DE. Face masks are required for all in attendance.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mr. Kwoka’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
