Wanda F. (Turner) Krammes

Wanda F. (Turner) Krammes, age 81, of Newark, DE, passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2017.

Born in Federalsburg, MD on Christmas Day, 1935, Wanda was a daughter of the late Calvin and Anna (Zahniser) Turner. In her earlier years, she enjoyed being a homemaker, was a proud military wife, and was employed for a short time at the University of Delaware. Wanda instilled in her four daughters a strong appreciation for education and independence. After her family was grown, she enjoyed working as a caregiver for the YWCA after school program.

In her younger years, Wanda loved staying active and exercising “ a trait she passed on to her daughters. More recently, she enjoyed playing cards and board games with family and friends and watching game shows “ Jeopardy being her absolute favorite. Most of all, she adored spending time with her family and especially looked forward to family gatherings. Wanda was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend who will be dearly missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Robert E. Krammes and her brother, Tom Turner. She is survived by her daughters, Ruth Morgan (Scott) of Seaford, Nancy Freeman of Milford, Kay Tommer (Jack, Jr.) of Wilmington, and Carla Otto (John) of Newark; siblings, Pat Blum (Jim) of Bel Air, MD, Calvin Turner (Jean) of Salisbury, MD, Donna Jarmon of Whaleyville, MD, and Linda Milligan (Norman) of Glen Burnie, MD; sister-in-law, Linda Turner of Federalsburg, MD; 8 grandchildren; and 1 great granddaughter.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:00 am until 10:00 am on Thursday morning, August 31, 2017, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where a funeral service will be held at 10:00 am. Interment will be held privately in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Wanda’s memory may be made to the YMCA of Delaware, Association Office, Attn: Matthew Clements, Dir. of Philanthropy, 100 W. 10th Street, Suite 1100, Wilmington, DE 19801.
