William B. “Bill” Taylor, Jr.

June 1, 1933 - June 22, 2024

William B. “Bill” Taylor, Jr., age 91, of Newark, DE, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 22, 2024.

Born in Wilmington, DE, on June 1, 1933, he was the son of the late William B. and Anne (Watkins) Taylor, Sr. Bill served honorably in the United States Navy during the Korean War aboard the submarine, USS Cubera, and was a 54-year member of the American Legion Stahl Post #30. Bill was a 70 plus year member of Local 42 Insulators and Asbestos Workers Union. He started and ended his career at the Delaware City Refinery.

After his retirement, Bill enjoyed his summers at his beach house in Fenwick Island, crabbing and relaxing with his family. He also had several good and bad days playing the slots at Delaware Park and Dover Downs.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his daughter, Lynn (Taylor) Dziubinsky. He is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Marianne (Ryan) Taylor; children, William Taylor (Chris), and Michael Taylor; his favorite cousin, Larry McDaniels; 3 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:30 pm until 7 pm on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 7 pm. Interment will be held privately in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
