William “Bill” King - Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Homes & Crematory

William “Bill” King

April 22, 1982 - September 3, 2022

William “Bill” King, age 40, of Newark, DE, passed away suddenly on Saturday, September 3, 2022.

Bill was born on April 22, 1982, in Chester, PA, to Evelyn and Michael King, of Newark, DE.

Perhaps since he was born on Earth Day, he had a passion for wildlife from an early age. He was most at home enjoying the beauty of nature and was always advocating for a cleaner environment. He loved fishing in any body of water and always sent pictures of the snakes, turtles, lizards, and birds he encountered on his various nature outings. Bill will always be remembered for his uncanny ability to find four leaf clovers.

Although he explored many different occupations over his lifetime, his favorite job was being “Uncle Billy” to his nieces and nephews. His presence will be deeply missed at birthday parties, sporting events, holidays, and all family gatherings.

Bill was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Helen and Walter Nowak; paternal grandparents, Vienna and Charles King; aunts, Joan Nowak, and Patricia Bradley; and uncle, Thomas King. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sisters, Angel Ramos (Anthony) of San Antonio, TX, and Marilyn Donahue (Matthew) of West Deptford, NJ; brother, Daniel King (Tina) of Baltimore, MD; aunt, Loretta Tenowich of Spring, TX; nieces, Madison McCarthy, and Vienna Donahue; nephews, Josh McCarthy, Liam and Jack Donahue, and Nikola King; and numerous cousins.

A private ceremony will be held with family, but we encourage you to support his memory through a simple gesture of picking up litter you might encounter in your daily lives as he would have. Additionally, support in his honor may be made to earthday.org, atTAckaddiction.org, 988lifeline.org, trailspinners.org, or savethevalley.org.
