William “Bud” Joseph Budinger

Born April 1, 1948

William Bud Joseph Budinger, age 68, of Clayton, DE, while in a peaceful sleep and surrounded by his family, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 4, 2016.

Bud was born in Canton, PA on April 1, 1948. He graduated from William Penn High School in 1966 then went on to attend the University of Maryland.

He was preceded in death by his mother Ellen Houck-Leoni and his father William S. Budinger. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Sharon Budinger, his daughter’s Stacey and Shannon Budinger, son Jeffrey Budinger and wife Dawn, son Ryan Budinger, his 14 grandchildren, his sister Anne Wiseman, and his many nieces and nephews.

Bud’s favorite thing to do in life was to watch his children and grandchildren play sports. He also enjoyed playing golf, woodworking, and his projects around the house. He was a member of the Joseph B. Stahl Post #30 for 45 years.

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Friday afternoon, April 8, 2016 at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. Dupont Parkway, New Castle, where a visitation will be held from 12:30 pm until 2 pm. Interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions in Bud’s memory be sent to MOT Youth Football and Cheerleading League, where he enjoyed watching his grandchildren play football. Donations can be mailed to M.O.T Football, P.O. Box 793, Middletown, DE, 19709 or be made by visiting
