  • My heart is heavy and I am so sorry for the loss of the Shoemaker family.

I met Bud when I started working for Reliable, 28 years ago. Work there ended but we remained friends.

He could make anyone laugh, at any time. He was a great friend and I enjoyed his company so much! He called me ‘Guppy’, because I was not going to fill the “Mermaid’s” shoes!

For the last two years, I kept saying I got to get over to New Castle to see my old friend, regretfully, I did not.

My prayers are with Martha, Matt, Tony and Jodie, as well as the rest of his family, friends, and people who’s lives were touched by him.

Rest in peace, my friend 🙁

    Lynn Link (Guppy)

Words can’t express the depths of which you are already missed. On the outside you were known to be the center of all good times. But on the inside a genuine, compassionate, and kindhearted man prevailed. Thank you for taking a chance in life and choosing to be our father. Until we meet again may you Rest In Peace and comfort with our Lord

    Love Mom

  • To my firstborn, you brought rain in my life always followed by sunshine.
You had smiles for everyone and you were very generous, if you had $5 and your friend needed $10 you would borrow the difference and give it to him.
I will miss our Sunday calls.
    Love Mom

  • Martha, Hi, Sorry to hear about Bud. I really liked him. I remember when he and Buddy use to hang around together. Don’t know if you know, it wasn’t in the paper but Buddy died Jan 29 2017 in Fl. Just thought I’d let you know.

  • Pyle,

You are missed more than any words can describe. I cannot thank you enough for opening your arms and your heart to care for me more as a daughter then just a daughter-in-law.

You were an amazing father to your two boys and fantastic grandfather. The special bond you created with Blake and Kendall could never be replaced. Watching and talking about sports with Blake, betting donuts on the games. Sneaking snacks to Kendall and letting her get away with anything and everything.

Thank you for being such a big part of my life! I will miss most all the nights on the “Lane” or in the “Garden” laughing and joking, making up nicknames for everyone and then taking the “tour” before calling it a night.

During this difficult time someone said it best “Bud was the kind of guy that would give you the shirt off his back, even when he didn’t have a shirt to give”.

    Rest easy Pyle.

    Love,
    Jodie
