William P. “Bill” Quinn

William P. “Bill” Quinn, age 62, of Bear, DE, passed away on Friday, April 9, 2021.

Bill was born in Wilmington, DE, on February 20, 1959, and graduated in 1977 from Delcastle Technical High School. He then made his 27-year career as the senior director of facilities and maintenance services for Wilmington University. He enjoyed fishing, exploring, spending time outdoors, and riding off-road vehicles. Bill also took pleasure in spending time at his family beach house and mountain retreat. Above all, he greatly treasured time with his family and beloved dog, Charlie.

Bill was preceded in death by his siblings, Mark Quinn and Debbie Burchfield and parents-in-law, Richard and Doris Grove. He is survived by his dear wife, Donna (Grove) Quinn; sons, Josh Quinn (Julia) of Washington, DC and Eric Quinn (Felicia) of Middletown; and grandchildren, Maks, Niko, Sasha, Gavin, and Mason.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 2 pm until 3 pm on Thursday, April 15, 2021, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE. Face masks will be required for all in attendance. Service and interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill’s memory to the Mark S. Quinn Memorial Scholarship, Wilmington University, 320 North DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE 19720 or wilmu.edu/giving-funds

    I am so sorry to hear of Billy’s passing. I remember when he started at Delcastle High School. He was 2 years behind me, but we always spoke to each other. He happily updated me periodically on how your family was doing. Then fast forward to 1986, I started my job at DP&L – and I worked with your Dad.
