William Robert “Bill” Dougherty, Sr.

William Robert “Bill” Dougherty, Sr., age 74, of Newark, DE, passed away on Friday, May 27, 2022, peacefully at his home with his wife of 41 years, Robbie, by his side.

Bill retired from Chrysler after 36 years and enjoyed the company of his wife and dog, Lily, in his retirement.

Bill was preceded in death by his stepson, Adam; parents, George and Esther; and brother, Woody. He is survived by his wife, Robbie; children, Patty (Craig), and Bob (Danielle); 5 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Thursday, June 2, 2022, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE. The family requests guests to wear casual clothing. Interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill’s memory to an animal rescue of your choice.
