William Stephen Hibble, Jr.
February 25, 1936 - June 28, 2019
William Stephen Hibble Jr., age 83, of Newark, DE, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2019.
Born in Newport News, VA on February 25, 1936, he was the son of the late William S. and Thelma Hibble. William proudly served in the U.S. Airforce. He worked for the University of Delaware as a boiler operator for many years.
William was a skilled fabricator who could fix anything and even built his own car. A talented woodworker, his family will forever treasure the intricate pieces he has made for them over the years. William enjoyed watching NASCAR and spending quality time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Bertrand. He is survived by his loving wife, Betty L. (Baker) Hibble; daughter, Melba C. Haynes (Lester); son, Michael S. Hibble; granddaughter, Brittany S. Hibble; great grandson, Logan Bass; and sister, Melba Minson.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:30 am until 11:30 am on Monday, July 8, 2019, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 W. Park Place, Newark, DE, where a funeral service will be held 11:30 am. Interment will follow in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE. The family requests that you wear bright clothing in William’s memory.
