Baird F. “Daddy Bear” Foster, Sr., age 88, of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 6, 2024.
Born in Rochester, NY, on July 29, 1935, he was a son of the late Geraldine M. Foster. Baird proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1954 until 1958. He worked as a long-distance truck driver for Conoco and DuPont Co. until his retirement.
Baird could often be found enjoying a cup of coffee. In his spare time, he loved watching wrestling or westerns.
In addition to his mother, Baird was preceded in death by his daughter, T.C. Tucker. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Shirley A. (Kelley) Foster; children, William Tucker Jr., Joseph Tucker, Michelle Reed, Theresa Williams, Cara, Nancy, Erica Meeds, Jimmy Foster, Kathy Foster, Derald Foster, and Allan Foster; and numerous grand and great-grandchildren.
A committal service will begin at 10 am on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, in the chapel of Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Baird’s memory to a charity of the donor’s choice.
