Edgar J. Hasson, Jr.

Edgar J. Hasson, Jr., age 84, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, July 30, 2025.

Born in Mount Holly, NJ on July 20, 1941, he was a son of the late Edgar, Sr. and Virginia. Edgar made his career as a maintenance worker.

Edgar was talented at woodworking and could often be found in his shop. He did all the trim work in his home and built two entire rooms, including the cabinets, shelves, and doors. Edgar also loved working in his backyard where he spent countless hours creating his own oasis. In his spare time, he enjoyed relaxing on his porch deck and listening to country music.

In addition to his parents, Edgar was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Hasson; and brother, Johnny Hasson. He is survived by his children, Deborah Coyle (Daniel), Edgar Hasson III (Michelle), and Matthew Hasson (Destiny); 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. The family requests that all in attendance wear blue jeans and blue colored shirts. Interment will be held privately.
