Anthony Stephen Gott - Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Homes & Crematory

Anthony Stephen Gott

October 19, 1962 - February 3, 2026

Anthony Stephen Gott, age 63, of Delaware City, Delaware, left the confines of his physical body to transcend into a pain-free, eternal life in Heaven on Tuesday, February 3, 2026.

Stephen was born in Wilmington, Delaware on October 19, 1962, and was the son of the late Richard and Barbara Lindsey. He graduated from William Penn High School in 1980 and was a diligent worker, taking jobs delivering newspapers as a kid, working at the local gas station and Foraker Oil as a teen, and United Electric and Johnson Controls as an adult.

Stephen “never met a stranger,” only friends he hadn’t gotten to know yet. He had a big heart and giving nature, lending a hand to everyone who needed one. Like his mother, he was an avid gardener and could grow more vegetables in a 2’ wide strip in his backyard than most could grow on land 10 times that size. The garden he maintained at his grandparents’ home was legendary. Stephen also enjoyed fishing, boating, horseshoes, cornhole, watching his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers, and most of all, hosting his family and friends. Whether it be holidays, pool parties, crab feasts, or any day of the week, Stephen was always surrounded by loved ones who enjoyed his company and hospitality.

In addition to his parents, Stephen was predeceased by his sister, Rose Marie Gott; and beloved furbabies, Hershey and Roxy. He is survived by his sister, Erica Lindsey; fiancé, Kim Drummond Kennedy; Kim’s daughters, Kayla and Kelsey; and grandchildren, Karter and Kenna, all of whom brought Stephen great joy and whom he loved as his own, his grandchildren in particular were the absolute lights in his life. Also surviving are aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, many of those friendships stretching back to early childhood.

Many thanks to Stephen’s friends, family, and neighbors who encouraged, supported, and took care of Stephen recently as his health deteriorated, including his beloved cousin Aaron, and dear friends, Perry, Bobby, and Ray. We take comfort in knowing he is now pain-free and reunited with his family and friends in Heaven, but we will surely miss him here on Earth.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 4 pm until 5:30 pm on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 214 Clinton Street, Delaware City, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 5:30 pm. Interment will be held privately.

  • Steve and I were friends during my late teen years when my family moved into a house in Delaware City. He was one of the kindest, sweetest, respectful young men I had ever met – he had such a big heart and would give the shirt off his back to anyone. We lost touch decades ago as our lives moved forward but he was just someone that you could never forget once he touched your life. Prayers for the family – may God wrap his loving arms around you all to bring you strength, comfort and peace to guide you through this loss.

  • So sorry Erica, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, May God bring you all peace and comfort in this difficult time.
