Chester R. Matthews, age 74, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 29, 2026.

Chester was preceded in death by his parents, Charles William and Ethel Jeanette (Holmes) Matthews; siblings, Ruth Ann Matthews, Charles William Matthews Jr., Spencer R. Matthews, and Dennis J. Matthews. He is survived by his siblings, Patricia Jeanette Baer and Cherry Collins (Jim); nieces, Mae Lynn Collins-Joyce (Michael) and Grace K. Collins; nephews, David A. Collins and Stephen R. Collins; and 7 great-nephews.
