James Alexander “Jim” Crossan

James Alexander “Jim” Crossan, age 74, of Middletown, DE, passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.

Born in Wilmington, DE on May 20, 1951, he was a son of the late James M. and Jeanette (Tuskewth) Crossan. Jim worked for several refineries throughout his career, with the majority of his career spent at the Delaware City Refinery. In addition to his dedication to his job, his family was most important. Jim enjoyed time spent on the water fishing, family gatherings, and helping others.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his daughter, Christina Crossan; and siblings, Michael D. Crossan, John Crossan, Bonnie Sheats, and Katherine Rhorer. He is survived by his son, James R. Crossan; sister, Beatrice Harper; companion of 40 years, Gail Tidwell; grandchildren, Autumn Lazarczyk, James D, Crossan, and Destiny Crossan; great-granddaughter, Ivy Crossan-Gonzalez; several step-grandchildren, including Raymond Angell; and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 2 pm until 3 pm on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 3 pm. Inurnment will be held privately.
