Joseph Vincent “Joe” Porch

Joseph Vincent “Joe” Porch, age 73, of Elkton, MD, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2026.

Born in Vineland, NJ on November 5, 1952, he was raised in Bridgeton, NJ by his late parents Tom and Maver (Robinson) Porch.  Joe was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School and Cumberland County Community College in Vineland.  After college he worked with troubled youth at The Youth Detention Center in Bridgeton. He then began his lifelong career in insurance, working with his father to build a successful insurance brokerage that he would later purchase.  The Porch Agency was acquired by Commerce Insurance Services (later Conner Strong & Buckelew) in 2003.  Joe retired from Conner Strong & Buckelew in 2018.

Throughout his career, Joe built many lifelong friendships.  He enjoyed spending his summers down the shore and on his sailboat in Rock Hall, MD and the winter months skiing. During football season, he could always be found cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Patricia (Poggioli) Porch; daughter, Sarah Porch (Jim Vesci); siblings, Ellen Greco (Mike Cudemo) and Tom Porch; brother-in-law, Pete Hoernor; sister-in-law Margaret Poggioli Schaum (Kurt Schaum); devoted grandchildren, Sofia Chletsos and Jack Chletsos; plus many nieces, nephews and dear friends.  He was preceded in death by siblings Katie Hoerner and Bill Porch.

Services will be privately held.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to be announced.
