Theresa Ann (Bond) Simpers

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Theresa Ann (Bond) Simpers on July 10, 2026, at the age of 60.
Theresa was born on September 10, 1965, in Brooklyn, New York, to the late Adeline Theresa Bond and Peter Joseph Bond Jr. She was a graduate of Christiana High School, Class of 1983.
Theresa dedicated many years to her career, including time with the State of Delaware, Churchman Village, MBNA/Bank of America, and Kmart. After retiring, she enjoyed spending her time doing what she loved most—being with her family, especially her four beloved grandchildren.
Theresa had a heart of gold and was known for her kindness, generosity, and unconditional love. She enjoyed country music, cooking for family gatherings, watching her favorite television shows, getting her nails done with her daughter, and spending sunny days at the family camper doing word searches, relaxing, and watching her grandchildren play.
She treasured family time, loved her jewelry and perfumes, and was always known for keeping her hair just right. Though she was small in stature, her heart was enormous.
She shared many special memories with her husband, Thomas Mark Simpers, including motorcycle trips and visiting Harley-Davidson shops along the way. Her greatest joy, however, was always her family.
Theresa was preceded in death by her parents, Adeline Theresa Bond and Peter Joseph Bond Jr.; her in-laws, Marian Lena (Latham) Simpers and Thomas Simpers; her beloved grandson, Andrew (AJ) Craven Lawrence Harrison, Jr.; her siblings who passed before her; and her beloved aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews who also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her loving husband, Thomas Mark Simpers; daughter, Ashley Marie (Simpers) Harrison; son-in-law, Andrew Craven Lawrence Harrison; grandchildren, Dominic Anthony Thomas Harrison, Vincenzo Alexander Harrison, Maddalena Rose Harrison, and Giuliana Marie Harrison; her two living brothers and one living sister; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Theresa’s love, strength, and beautiful spirit will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She was a devoted wife, mother, Mommom, sister, aunt, and friend whose greatest gift was the love she gave so freely.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, Delaware, where a celebration of life will begin at 12:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made in Theresa’s memory to a children’s charity or organization of the donor’s choice.

Ashley, I am so sorry for the loss of your Mother. She was one of my favorites. I’m sure you know that you and the grand children were her life!!! I was just talking to her 2 or 3 weeks ago at the DMV…she always made me smile.

I am so sorry to hear of Theresa’s death. My Condolences to her family and friends. She was truly a kind person. We always seemed to be shopping at Shop-Rite at the same time. We would talk and update each other on what was going on which led to Long conversations at the store. She will truly be missed and I send my prayers to her family.
