Donald R. “Donnie” Nave III, age 32, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2026.

Born in Wilmington, DE on February 13, 1994, he was an early Valentine’s Day gift to his mother, Dianna (Gibbons) Spence. Donnie made his career as the owner of 3 Brothers Contracting.

An avid sports fan, Donnie enjoyed cheering on the New York Yankees and the Philadelphia Eagles. Donnie was a true family man; he was extremely close with his family and loved them immensely. He took great pride in being the best father and uncle he could be. Donnie adored his fiancé, Chelsea, and their children. His most cherished moments were made on their weekend outings. Donnie made an impact on everyone he met, even if it was only a short time. He was known for always lending a helping hand to anyone in need. His kind eyes, huge heart, and bright smile will always be remembered by his loved ones.

Donnie was preceded in death by his Grandma Edie and Grandpop Bruce. He is survived by his fiancé, Chelsea Cooke; children, Ikeem and Jaidyn; mother, Dianna Spence; father, George Spence; grandparents, George and Kim; siblings, Shane, Bobby, Alexis, Reggan, and Bryna’e; niece, Liliani; a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his beloved dog, Princess.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 1 pm until 3 pm on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 3 pm. Interment will be held privately.

  • My heart goes out to you Donnie was a really good dude. I was in jail with him a couple of years ago and I respected the way he carried his self. I’m a long time friend of the family and I’m here to help in anyway. I’m praying for your whole family. Rest easy Don. I know you’re up there watching over your family.
