Gregory W. “Greg” Shadel

Gregory W. “Greg” Shadel, age 77, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2026.

Born in Millville, DE on June 9, 1949, he was the son of the late Edward H. and Frances M. (Vogel) Shadel. Greg made his career as an airplane upholsterer at Dassault Falcon, formerly Atlantic Aviation, in New Castle until his retirement.

In his free time, Greg enjoyed watching NASCAR races and attending classic car shows. He could also be found in the kitchen cooking his favorite recipes for his family or planting a garden full of different vegetables in his backyard that he would share with his neighbors. Lastly, animals have always held a special place in Greg’s heart, and he treated them with kindness, compassion, and love.

Greg is survived by his loving wife, Linda J. (Brown) Shadel; daughter, Katherine “Elissia” Jones; grandson, Logan Jones; sister, Vivian Sexton (Phil); and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 12 pm until 1 pm on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 1 pm. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE.
