Adele Louise Steimer, age 95, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 22, 2025.

Born in Prospect Park, PA on July 8, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Rene M. and Helen (Sacstroh) Jaccard. Adele dedicated her life in support of her family.

Adele was active in her community, participating in many activities at the Newark Senior Center, volunteering in various capacities and later being an active member of the Vero/Juniper Community where she resided.  Adele was an avid sports fan and enjoyed following the Delaware Blue Hens through the 70’s and 80’s. During baseball season, she could often be found cheering on her beloved Philadelphia Phillies. Adele also loved spending time at Fenwick Island. In her earlier years she was an avid fisherman and crabber.

In addition to her parents, Adele was preceded in death by her husband, Harold A. Steimer, Jr.; and brother, Robert Jaccard. She is survived by her children, Cheryl Sprague (Thomas), Harold “Jay” Steimer III (Joanne), and Mark Steimer (Deborah); loving nieces and nephews; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a message of appreciation to all the wonderful people at the Vero/Juniper for their kindness and dedication in making the past few years enjoyable.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:30 am until 11:30 am on Friday, April 25, 2025, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 11:30 am. A committal service will be held privately in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
