Alburn Wayne Griffitts

Alburn Wayne Griffitts, age 87, of Bear, DE, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2026.

Born in Cedar Bluff, VA on September 18, 1939, he was a son of the late Glenn and Roxie (Ray) Griffitts. Wayne dedicated more than 40 years at Chrysler as a maintenance supervisor. He later drove a school bus for Colonial School District for several years.

Wayne found peace being by the water; he relished spending his day fishing or soaking up the sun at the beach. Deep in his faith, he was a devoted Christian. Wayne’s most cherished memories were made with his family whom he loved deeply.

In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Judith Ann (Lambert) Griffitts; and by a brother and sister. He is survived by his children, Jamie M. Griffitts, Tracy Hughes, Jack Griffitts, and Kelly Griffitts; sister-in-law, Patricia Chaffin; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 26, 2026, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE. Interment will be held privately.
