Allan W. Henderson, Sr.
March 7, 1957 - January 25, 2023
Allan W. Henderson, Sr., age 65, of Newark, DE, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2023.
Born in Wilmington, DE on March 7, 1957, he was a son of the late Wesley C. and Esther J. (Roberts) Henderson. Allan proudly served in the United States Army. He spent over 30 years working as a truck driver for Harmony Construction, with whom he thought of as family.
Allan loved watching sports in his spare time, he could always be found watching NASCAR races or football games. Most of all, Allan cherished being with his family and sharing stories with them.
Allan was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Esther Henderson. He is survived by his children, Clara Henderson and Elatia Lyons; siblings, Linda Manfre (Joseph), Cindy Lawson (John), and Michael Henderson (Cassandra); uncle and aunts, Al Roberts, Mary McCready, and Frances Roberts; close friend, Aaron Souder; 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Friday, February 3, 2023, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North Dupont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE.
