Alvin C. “Chris” Lynch, Jr., age 83, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Monday, August 28, 2023.
Born in Chester, PA on April 27, 1940, he was the son of the late Alvin Chrisfield Lynch and Elva (Stidham) Hammontree. Chris worked as a lineman and assemblyman at General Motors until his retirement.
Chris is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Lois M. (Andrews) Lynch; children, Daniel Lynch and Heather Baca; grandsons, Shane Lynch, Josh Moore, and Connor Baca; and sister, Kay Wootten-Schechinger.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Friday, September 1, 2023, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE.

Sorry to hear of Chris’s passing. He was a good man and always had new joke or story to share. What a life he had and memories to share of his many motorcycle trips that he had taken over the years. I was fortunate enough to make my one and only trips (so far) to the Sturgis Motorcycle rally the year that the picture was taken above. I will never forget one of our rides while out when we went ripping down through a Wyoming mountain valley at about 90mph with a roadside deck full of bikers cheering us on and looking in my rear view mirror to see Chris with his hat on backwards and right on my tail. I clearly remember thinking, “I hope I am enjoying life like Chris when I am his age.” We will miss you buddy. Rest in peace my friend.
