Andrew A. “Andy” Romano, age 84, of Middletown, DE, passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Wednesday, May 1, 2024.
Born in Wilmington, DE on January 30, 1940, he was a son of the late Andrew P. and Gilda J. Romano. He went on to graduate from the Wharton School of Business. Andy served in the Delaware National Guard while working at the Bank of Delaware (PNC bank) and went on to become Auditor.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Bernice Breyer; daughters, Nicole Hammond (Sylvester) and Andrea VanBuskirk (Kevin); son, Matthew Romano (Melissa); grandchildren, Nathaniel Weir (Samantha), Briar, Noah and Bodhi VanBuskirk, Matthew Romano, Evan, Seth and Sofia Hammond; great-grandchildren, Luna and MacArthur Weir; and siblings, Anthony (Madeline) and John Romano.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Friday, May 10, 2024, at St. Margaret of Scotland Roman Catholic Church, 2431 Frazer Road, Newark, DE, where a Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 11 am. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE.

Bernice, Andrea and family, I am so sorry for your loss. We just saw him on Easter and he seemed to be fine. Will miss seeing him at Andrea and Kevin’s house when we have a holiday get together.
