Andrew W. “Andy” Wasylyszyn, age 71, of Middletown, DE, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.

Born in Wilmington, DE on March 7, 1955, he was a son of the late Wasyl and Katheryna (Lychowid) Wasylyszyn. Andy was a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School in Wilmington. He worked in various professions, including owning his own service station, before working with Verizon, where he dedicated many years, prior to his retirement.

Andy was an avid drag racing fan, UFC fan, and loved all sports. He enjoyed camping with his grandchildren, boating, and riding his motorcycle. Andy was a friend to many and enjoyed helping others. He was a member of the St. Basil Ukrainian Catholic Church, where he volunteered countless hours. Andy’s most important passion was spending time with his family. He met the love of his life, Bonnie, when they worked together at Citgo Gas Station. They dated for several years and were married in 2010. Together they have built many cherished memories.

In addition to his parents, Andy was preceded in death by his sister, Vera Farenski; and brother-in-law, Stanley Farenski. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Bonnie Williams Wasylyszyn; sons, Johnny Denham (Mollie) and Stephen Denham (Katelyn); godson, Jeremy Taylor (Tiff); goddaughter, Sara Wasylyszyn; siblings, Maria Wasylyszyn, Michael Wasylyszyn (Joan), Stephen Wasylyszyn (Chris), and Judy (Ridley) Wasylyszyn; grandchildren, Savannah, Mason, Rylind, Charlotte, Weston, and Everleigh; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 12 pm on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 275 East Main Street, Middletown, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 12 pm. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE.

  • My condolences goes out to my aunt Bonnie. Im so blessed that my aunt married a wonderful man. He was the best uncle in the world that I could ever have. He taught me so much and helped me understand alot. He will be forever in my heart and never forgotten. He loved the poem I wrote for him several weeks back. I love u uncle Andy always and forever.

  • Sorry for my Sister loss. Lord Jesus this man that you brought into my life and daughter and of course khole life. Andy was so much like a brother to me he was so full of love and kind to me we never ever argue. He always ask if I was ok and if I needed anything. He always gave me good advise and anytime I wanted to talk to someone he was there. My sister married the best man on this earth. Khole was attach to him she always wanted his love. But sadly he was taken away 😢 I know I will never ever forget this man. He was always busy and a very hard worker. I always discuss different frogs we laugh on the phone he always reminded me to never play with the tree frogs or the red frogs.it seems just like a dream. I love you Brother Andy til we meet again.
