Ann E. Kearney, age 83, of Newark, DE, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2024.

Born in Chester, PA, on May 20, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Marie (Gillespie) Schwartz, Sr. Ann was a graduate of Notre Dame High School in Chester, PA, then went on to work at Scott Paper Co. Later she worked in medical billing for local physician’s offices.

Ann looked forward to taking trips to the Jersey Shore, spending time with family and friends on the beach. She also enjoyed painting ceramics in her free time, in fact, she carried this hobby throughout most of her life making many friends along the way. Ann and her husband took pride in their home; making sure it was a comfortable and fun place for family and friends to bond, share laughs and make memories. She could always be found in the kitchen cooking a delicious meal and especially loved preparing Sunday family dinners, bringing her adult children and their families back home, for over 40 years. Ann’s most cherished moments were spent with her beloved family. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Peter “Jerry” Kearney; and sisters, Barbara Mullen and Theresa Gillen. She is survived by her children, Jerry Kearney (Missy), Ann Treml (Jeff) and Stephen Kearney (Heather); siblings, Marie Roberts and Alfred Schwartz, Jr.; grandchildren, Nathan (Megan), Shane (Caitlyn), Alison, Brett (Lizzy), Paul, Madison and Morgan; and great-granddaughters, Sawyer, Maeve, Harper and Lillian.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 11 am until 12 noon on Monday, December 30, 2024, at Holy Angels R.C. Church, 82 Possum Park Road, Newark, DE, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 12 noon. A committal service will follow in the chapel of Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.
