Anna (“Ann”) May Russo (McGhee)

Anna (“Ann”) May Russo (McGhee), age 88, of Claymont, DE, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, September 7, 2019. Born May 10, 1931, in Boothwyn, PA to Millard C. McGhee and Mary E. (Dwyer) Wilkins. Ann graduated from Claymont High School in 1949. 

Ann is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Millard C. McGhee (Jr.), Clarence “Mac” McGhee, and her son Rocci Liott (Joyce).  Ann is survived by her children, John Lammey (Teresa), Donna Lammey, Annee Dury (Eugene), Robert Stromberg, and Carl McGhee, nephew loved like a son (Victoria); sister, Esther Olson (McGhee), brothers, AD and JD McGhee; grandchildren: Shane Heffner, Ricky Spisak, Cara (Matthew), Brendan, Connor, and Hannah Lammey, Jeffrey (Lauren) and Timothy Liott, Declan and Eadan Dury, Kelan and Hailey Stromberg; great-grandchildren: Zackary, Shaina, Tristen, Savannah, Gage, Jace, Wesley, and Arlo; and great-great grandchild: Isabella, and many relatives close to her heart.

Ann will be remembered for her loving disposition. She loved everyone, deeply, unconditionally. Her heart was big and her door always open. When she wasn’t working to support her kids, she enjoyed cooking for them, esp. Thanksgiving, or outings to Valley Forge, Brandywine, Lenope Park, Lums Pond, or Delaware beaches (fishing or crabbing). She had fond memories of simpler times spent with family in Knoxville, TN. Ann was much smarter than she ever gave herself credit for. She loved crossword puzzles, reading history or nutrition books (she had a natural remedy for every ailment).  

A memorial service will be held in Ann’s honor at a date to be determined.
