Anthony A. “Tony” Corradetti

Anthony A. “Tony” Corradetti, age 97, of Brookhaven, PA, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, April 18, 2023.

Born and raised in Chester, PA on May 19, 1925, he was a son of the late Massimo Corradetti and Rose (Tempera) Callichia. Tony was a proud veteran of the United States Army Air Corp. serving in England, where he completed 31 bombing missions over Germany. In Tony’s early career days, he was a pattern maker working in Chester. His last 25 years of working were spent with the DuPont Company in Wilmington at the Engineering Development Laboratory as an engineering technologist.

Tony enjoyed spending his free time being creative; he could often be found wood working or building model airplanes. He found great joy being by the water fishing or going bowling. Tony was quite the handyman and always found a way to fix anything. Above all, he treasured his family and the memories he made with them.

In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by his first wife, Marie J. Corradetti; siblings, Alfred Corradetti, Elsie Quirk, Massimo Corradetti, Jr., and Rose and Mildred Callichia. He is survived by his loving wife, Arleen Yountz Corradetti; children, Robert A. Corradetti (Mary) of Hampstead, NC and Anthony A. Corradetti, Jr. of Sparks, MD; sisters, Aida Dragoni of Florida and Theresa Heaney of Dover, DE; grandchildren, Robert C. Corradetti, Alyse M. Corradetti, Lucia Corradetti, and Nico Corradetti; and great-grandchildren, Evyn M. Corradetti and Flora B. Corradetti.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. Interment will follow in Lawn Croft Cemetery, 1000 West Ridge Road, Linwood, PA.

  • RIP Uncle Tony. Thank you for your service and the memories through the years. You will be missed

  • My grandfather Harry Krieg and Uncle John Krieg owned Chester Pattern Company where Tony worked in his early years. My mother Barbara Krieg Whaley was the bookkeeper. I spent my summers at the shop and always enjoyed Tony’s great sense of humor. I have great memories of us pulling tricks on Clyde Montgomery! May he rest in peace 🙏🏻
