Anthony M. “Tony” Thomas, Jr., age 74, of Havertown, PA, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2023.
Born in Drexel Hill, PA on April 9, 1948, and raised in Wynnewood, PA, he was a son of the late Anthony M. and Ruby (Anderson) Thomas, Sr. Tony graduated from Lower Merion High School, and then graduated from St. Joseph’s University of Philadelphia, PA with an MBA in finance. He made his career as a hospital administrator at Temple University for many years.
Tony’s hobbies included collecting toy trains and accessories, collecting rare coins, watching mystery series, reading novels and literature, meal preparation, taking his kids out for fun, and (of course) online shopping. He loved to golf in his spare time, even winning the Philadelphia Amateur Golf Championship in his youth. His passion for the sport lead him to become a member of clubs such as Llanerch Golf Club, and Merion Golf Club, in addition to the Delaware Masonic Lodges. Tony was interested in anything to do with Sherlock Holmes, the Philadelphia Eagles, viewing fine art, listening to eclectic music genres, international cuisine tasting, and travelling internationally.
Tony is survived by his children, Alexandra E. “Lexi” Thomas and Anthony M. Thomas III.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5 pm until 6 pm on Friday, March 24, 2023, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 6 pm. Interment will be held privately.

Thank you. I know he would be your friend and want you to know he appreciates it and it would make him happy to know that I was reading nice things about him from his friends and family. It makes me happy that he was beloved by others as much as I loved him. My dad really wanted everyone in his life to feel a warm hug of kindness.
