Archie Corliss Havens

Archie Corliss Havens, age 94, a lifelong resident of Newark, DE, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2022.

Born in Wilmington, DE on October 7, 1928 he was a son of the late Anna Mary (Robinson) Havens. Archie proudly served his country in the United States Air Force retiring as an air traffic controller. He made his civilian career as a chemical operator with Formosa Plastics and Budd Company, retiring after many years of dedicated service.

Archie enjoyed watching baseball and routing for his favorite team, the Phillies. In his leisure time, he enjoyed going to Delaware Park and trying his luck at other casinos.

In addition to his mother, Archie was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Charlotte Havens; children, Cheryll Hussain (Nikki), and David Havens; and his brothers and sisters. He is survived by his loving sons, Brian Havens, Mark Havens, and Keith Havens; grandchildren, Connor, Emma, Sarah, Lauren, Timothy, and Charlene; 3 great-grandchildren; brother, Denny Havens; and devoted dog, Zoey.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 2 pm until 3 pm on Monday, December 12, 2022, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 275 East Main Street, Middletown, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 3 pm. Interment will be held at 1 pm on Monday, December 19, 2022 in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.
