Arthur G. Wilbur, age 84, of Middletown, DE, passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2021.

Born in Newark, NJ on April 2, 1937, he was a son of the late George and Ethel (Muchall) Wilbur. Arthur worked as a design draftsman for Worthington Corporation for several years and then at Vanton Pump for the remainder of his career.

He developed a love of music from a young age. He graduated from Bloomfield Vocational & Technical HS. Arthur was an avid fan of the Villanova University basketball team, the NY Yankees as well as the NY Giants. His love for marching band started when his daughters were in high school and grew to be a lifelong passion. He loved all thing marching band and Drum Corps and attended many competitions and championships when he was able.

Arthur was affectionately known as “Pop-Pop” to his grandchildren, whom he loved dearly. He loved spending time with his family, and felt family was his most cherished gift. Arthur found happiness in putting others first and making things possible for those around him.

In addition to his parents, Arthur was preceded in death by his siblings, Raymond Wilbur and Grace Wilbur. He is survived by his children, Peggy Foster (Jeffrey) of Townsend, Deborah Wilbur of Smyrna, Andrew Wilbur (Vickie) of Elkton, MD, and Richard Wilbur of Leesville, LA; 6 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 3 pm until 4 pm on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 275 East Main Street, Middletown, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 4 pm. Face coverings will be required for all those in attendance not immunized with the COVID-19 vaccine per the Governor of Delaware. A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Friday, August 27, 2021 in Lake Nelson Memorial Cemetery, 150 Morris Avenue, Piscataway, NJ 08854.
