Atlee J. “Lee” Miller

October 11, 1958 - March 15, 2022

Atlee J. “Lee” Miller, age 63, of Hartly, DE, passed away peacefully with his loving daughter by his side on Tuesday, March 15, 2022.

Born in Hartville, OH on October 11, 1958, he was a son of the late Jacob and Mary Ann (Coblentz) Miller. Lee spent most of his career as a carpenter and mason at I3a Consulting Engineers and Construction in Smyrna. Prior to being a carpenter, he was a truck driver for many years, or as Lee liked to call it “a paid professional tourist”.

Lee took much pride in his Amish heritage and could often be found woodworking. He was a man who never liked to be called sir, and enjoyed fishing and listening to music, especially bluegrass. His pride and joy was his grandson, Colton, who was the apple of his eye. Lee was a good man with a giving heart. Above all he will be remembered as a loving husband, father, “Daudy” (grand-father), brother, and dear friend to many.

In addition to his parents, Lee was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda J. (Wathen) Miller. He is survived by his loving daughter, Tanya “Betzy” Hughes (Lawton) of Smyrna; grandson, Colton “Budger” Hughes; siblings, Johnny Miller, Jonas Miller, Alvin Miller (Kim), Dan Miller (Gertie), Nate Miller (Emma), Betty Mast (Dan), Mattie Hershberger (Menno), Miriam Byler (Andy), Lydiann Miller (Mose), Judy Mast (Andy), and Mary Anna Yoder (Vernon); and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at Central Mennonite Church, 220 West Denney’s Road, Dover, DE, where a Celebration of Life will be held at 11 am. Interment will be held privately.
