Audrey W. Donovan

Audrey W. Donovan, age 95, of Bear, DE, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 9, 2026.

Born in Wilmington, DE, on October 3, 1930, she was the daughter of the late D. William and Bessie (Morgan) Wade. Audrey spent many years in the workforce, beginning her career at All American and Bell Telephone. She later worked as a draftsman for Hercules and went on to work at the New Castle County Airport.

Audrey enjoyed a rich and active life. She sang in various local choirs and had a love for travel and skiing. An avid reader and an excellent seamstress, she took great pride in her many talents. Above all, Audrey was a fiercely independent woman whose strength and spirit were admired by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Wade. Audrey is survived by her sons, L. Richard DePrisco of Twin Peaks, CA and J. Mark Donovan of Yardley, PA; daughter-in-law, Reverend Laura R. Donovan; grandson, Eric E. Donovan; and long-time friend, John Jurjans of Middletown, DE.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:30 am until 11 am on Friday, May 8, 2026, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark DE, where a memorial service will begin at 11 am. Committal will be held privately.
