Barbara Ann Fellure
December 9, 1945 - July 11, 2025
Barbara Ann Fellure, age 79, of Newark, DE passed away on Friday, July 11, 2025.
Born in Huntington, WV on December 9, 1945, she was a daughter of the late Reverend Lonnie and Dovie Midkiff. Barbara graduated from Guyan Valley High School and The School of Business at Marshall. She met the love of her life, Maurice, in 1964 at Annette’s Drive Inn in West Hamlin, WV. They married on September 2, 1965 and relocated to Newark, DE to begin their life together. Barbara began her career in banking working at Delaware Trust, Associates Bank and eventually Citibank, where she retired in 2007. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, playing Rook and poker with family and friends, watching live horse racing with her brother, Danny, and spending time with her grandkids.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her brothers, Eugene Midkiff and David Midkiff; and nephew, Mark Midkiff. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 60 years, Maurice; children, Bethany Summerhill (Dave), Mary Fellure, and Bradley Fellure (Tammy); grandchildren, Robert Summerhill, Allison Summerhill, Chelsey Budynkiewicz (RJ), Hailie Fellure, and Bradley Fellure; great-grandchildren, Lydia, Dani, Rhett, Reese, and Robert; siblings, Danny Midkiff (Barbara), and Connie Staley (Clyde); and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 11 am until 12 pm on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE. A committal service will follow in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Barbara’s name to a charity of your choice.
