Barbara Ann Stewart, age 71, of New Castle, DE, went to heaven peacefully on Friday, March 14, 2025, surrounded by her son and family.

She was born in Wilmington, DE on May 9, 1953, to her loving parents Alice M. and John J. Crawford.

Barbara began her 38 year career with Leon Weiner & Associates/Arbor Management, a full service real estate firm and property management company, as a receptionist in 1986. She served in many positions and on various committee assignments throughout her career. At the time of her retirement in November 2024, Barbara was administrative assistant to the Vice President.

Of her many awards, in 2006 Barbara received ‘The Helen Award’ in recognition of the highest degree of professionalism, devotion, loyalty and unwavering integrity and commitment to her company. Barbara was selected ‘Employee of the Year’ for her exceptional performance, dedication, and significant impact to the goals and people of the company in 2013. Awarded the ‘Sol Eskenazi Award’ in 2016, recognized Barbara’s honesty, courage and respect for her fellow employees. For the past 25+ years, Barbara enjoyed leading the annual Christmas party committee bringing friendship and cheer to the company’s local and regional employees.

She is predeceased by her husband William ‘Tommy’ Stewart. She leaves to cherish her memory her son, John J. Stewart of New Castle, brother John J. Crawford of Port St. Lucie, Florida, and sister Debbie States and her husband Doug of Crawfordville, Florida. She was predeceased by her brother James J. Crawford, also of Florida. In addition, she will be greatly missed by her many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

A visitation for family and friends with a memorial will be held 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, April 5, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE 19720, where a funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. A graveside memorial will follow at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE. Please join us for a reception in honor of Barbara.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Delaware SPCA or The Humane Society to further Barbara’s great and lasting passion for all things “Cats and Dogs”.
