Barbara Jean “Barb” Pyle
January 4, 1941 - March 14, 2024
Barbara Jean “Barb” Pyle, age 83, of Harrington, DE, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2024.
Born in Chester, PA, on January 4, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence M. Himes and Dorothy Mae (Cole) Himes Fuller. Barb worked for many years as an executive legal secretary before retiring.
Barb took great pride in being a past guardian, as well as a grand guardian for IOJD. She enjoyed golf and playing cards. Barb was also an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan. Most importantly, she treasured the time she spent with her family.
In addition to her parents, Barb was preceded in death by her loving husband, The Rev. Richard G. Pyle and granddaughter, Amy Day. She is survived by her children, Cheryll Collins (Richard), Virginia Pyle Owens and Rick Pyle; brother, Roger Himes; grandchildren, Kristi (Dan), Melanie (Steve), Matthew (Jess), Crystal (Tom), Tim, Michael (Jen), Paul (Maryann), Megan, and Rebekah; and 17 great-grandchildren.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. Interment will be held privately.
