Barry Lee Hurlock, age 73, of Newark, DE, passed away at his residence on Sunday, December 22, 2024.

​Born in Coatesville, PA on March 1, 1951, he was a son of the late Henry E. Hurlock, Jr. and Janet Hope (Meyers) Peace. Upon graduating from Octorara High School in Atglen, PA, Barry proudly enlisted in the US Air Force where he was stationed at the Dover Air Force Base. Following his honorable discharge, he went to work for Conrail for the next 25 years. Barry attended the University of Delaware where he received his degree in project management. After retirement, he was employed with Erickson Senior Living for 10 years as a project manager.

Barry was an avid Eagles fan. He enjoyed going to the beach and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Barry will always be remembered for his love of sitting in his treehouse while sipping his tea.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Harry, Darry, and Tarry Peace. Barry is survived by his children, Melissa Hurlock (Damon), Steven Hurlock, and Jamie Fix (Chris); siblings, Debbie Munk, Cathy Renshaw (Earl), Larry Peace, Garry Peace (Robin), Valerie Murr, and Michele Meginley (Warren); grandchildren, Jace and Lilly Rector; and many nieces and nephews.

​A visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:30 am until 12:30 pm on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 12:30 pm. A committal service will follow in the chapel of Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.
