Beatrice (Bea) Mitchell Magagna

July 9, 1929 - April 6, 2023

Beatrice (Bea) Magagna, 93, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2023 after a long illness surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born and raised in Ogletown, Delaware. Bea lived in Marshallton Heights for many years where she was a member of Marshallton Methodist Church. She was educated in a one room schoolhouse, where she also helped teach the younger students. Bea learned how to drive on Model T Ford.

She was a stay-at-home mother taking care of her two “girls”. Bea had excellent sewing skills, making many of their clothes when they were young. She loved cooking for everyone using many family recipes.

After her husband Pete retired, they moved to Port Charlotte, Florida where she always said she felt like she was on vacation every day. As their health declined, they moved to Cookeville, Tennessee to be cared for by her daughter, Linda. Shortly after her husband’s death, she moved back to Delaware so her daughter Terry could take care of her. As her illness progressed, Bea spent her final years under the loving care of Rockland Place.

She was predeceased by her parents, Elizabeth and Oscar Jochen; her husband, Peter Magagna III, her first husband, Roland Mitchell; and her brothers, Edwin Jochen and George Jochen, who she dearly missed. Bea is survived by “her girls”, Linda Tinch (Greg) and Terry Bianca (Bruce); her husband’s children, Barry Magagna (Jackie) and Susan Fols; grandchildren, Laura Liebal, Aaron Bianca and her husband’s grandson, Jason Magagna; great grandchildren, Stefon Woodruff, Jr., Marissa Moore, Madison Moore, and Arianna Bianca; and great great granddaughter, Aliyah Woodruff.

The family would like to thank Accent Care Hospice for the care they provided Bea during her final days.

There will be no services. At Pete and Bea’s request, they will be rejoined at the Peace River in Florida.
