Betty Mae Eastman

Betty Mae Eastman, age 99, of Dover, DE, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, January 12, 2025.

Born in Wilmington, DE on June 29, 1925, she was the daughter of the late William B. and Florence (Matthews) Jenkins, Jr. Betty made her career as a loan processor at Delaware Trust for 30+ years. She also held a couple of part-time jobs after retirement in Rehoboth Beach, DE.

In her free time, Betty loved tending to her flower garden, visiting the beach, and baking. She was thrilled to retire to Rehoboth Beach and also spent some time in Tampa, FL. Betty’s lemon meringue pies and raspberry swirl cookies were famous among her family and friends. A fan of tap dancing and coloring, she often joked that she had “the legs of a showgirl”.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Linda Watson (Ken); brother, William Jenkins; 3 granddaughters, Mandy Emerson (Lee), Chris Vinyard (Mike) and Merrie Tryon (Pat); 5 great-grandchildren, Robbie, Laura, Mike, Carlie and Luke; and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be scheduled at a later date at Gracelawn Memorial Park.
